Watching this again I think that the reason the white CA didn't work as well is because the white usually takes on the colour beneath it (how you get that coloured lightning/electricity type of effect) so it blends in too much for this type of technique. The black really stands out and makes those colours pop. I loved how when you blew out the black it almost gave a butterfly wing effect with the black outlining the bright colours. I still absolutely love this painting. Karen's a gem too!

I absolutely love how thick those paints are - so tactile! And keeping it for the flowers is really clever. I'd have made some of the leaves stand out with thicker paint too, but that would have lost the impact of the flowers. I saw your Mum loves it, I'm not surprised 😊

Hi Molly! I miraculously found a video of yours that I hadn't seen before while rewatching some of your older videos for Dutch pour/deconstructed bloom techniques as this is what I would like to tackle next. This is gorgeous! I did have about a hundred questions during the video though (you know me! Lol!) I was wondering, is a chain pull going to be part of the "Back to Basics" series you have planned? Oooooohhh! Maybe in pearl colours?! That would be fun! It would look like this when it's wet but become one of those funky rainbow roses when it dries!! 😮 It looked like the main struggle you had was the centre, maybe it just takes practice? Or maybe you could embellish that area either when it's wet (maybe puddle pour black and white in tiny dots to create rings and then use a skewer to make the inner petals?) or once it's dry (maybe with some little half pearls/diamantés or gold leaf to make the centre of the flower pop without overtaking the simplicity?) I'd love to see you try this again and see how you'd do it differently and what you would do the same. BTW - the cup of water the other side to drop the chains in.... Genius! I'd have been tangled in chains and covered in paint because I would never have thought of something so simple yet effective! Lmao! 😂😂

Molly, can you please give the formula / paint brand, etc. for the pouring medium of the black. Also, the same information for the pearlescent paints. I would like to try my 'hand' at this project but want to make sure I'm using the correct formula / quantities and products. I purchased the Amsterdam Pearl paints but only got them in the 7 oz. size tubes. I will probably use a 12 x 16 canvas. Thanks! Love the results.

They are both awesome! As you were painting, I was thinking, hmmm..a part 3😆 What if you used a med pallet knife on the first swipe and a small knife and drag the swipe backwards towards the center? You would get a different colored swipe in between the petals🤔 Just throwing it out there..might be interesting.😁😘

what did you use to swipe with?

Molly they do make gloves that go to your upper arm. You would have to go to a tracktor farm store. They are the rubber gloves they use to examine a cows rectum or uterus when checking their pregnancy.

Mrs. Molly your flowers are so lifelike, so beautiful. I love this tribute to your Mother. This is something my Mom would have loved. I draw and I'm just now getting into acrylic painting. I love seeing.what I've created when it's complete. A few I'm like ok...and then the others are like WOW I did that. But my Mom was the only one in my family that new I can draw. Now I'm back at it but with paint. And I love it. I wish I lived near you . I would love to have one on one teachings from you. I know your Mom love what you did. And so do i.

This turned out so pretty! I was chatting to a lady at a crafts market/fair that I did yesterday about when I first started watching fluid art videos and how it looked so easy to do but then I tried it and realised that no it wasn't easy at all! (You professionals in the videos were just making it look like the easiest thing ever 😂) and how people do make that assumption etc. I think we all do it to some extent and then when we try stuff it's a lot more difficult than you expect and that (in my experience anyway) just makes me even more impressed by those who make it look easy. I gained a whole new level of admiration for you and other fluid artists I was watching after I tried it myself, as I'm sure you're having to the artists who make working with heavy body paints and textures look super easy since you tried playing around with the technique. Also, Mr Molly getting you a card from the kitties is super sweet. I love that! He's definitely a keeper! 😊

Vous avez raison, c'est vraiment très agréable de créer et imaginer le comment faire même si le résultat est rarement à ce que l'on imaginait 😅
